In our changing world, sustainability in projects is more important than ever. In order to make sure that our projects are truly sustainable, we use an approach that balances the environmental, social and economic aspects of project-based working to meet the current needs of stakeholders without compromising or overburdening future generations.
If sustainability is planned in as a key requirement from the outset, it can’t be traded or forgotten. For this reason, we are building sustainability into the vision at the very start of the project and our team is using KPIs that will not allow us to fall into the greenwashing trap.
The RISE UP project aims to support Higher education (HED) professionals in cultivating these transformative skills by offering practical tools and resources directly applicable in teaching.
Consequently, educators across all levels will gain the capacity to adress the dual challenges of transformative climate action and climate anxiety.
The project will adapt the GreenComp framework (European Commission, 2022) for young adult university education, operationalizing it into a "Transformative Climate Resilience Eduation Framework (GreenComp) and Educators Toolbox" through a transdiciplinary approach that incorporates design thinking methods, ecopsychology, traditional ecoligical knowledge and physcholofical strategies
Through a series of hands-on upcyling workshops, participants were invited to transform old garments into new, wearable creations like tote bags, accessories, or refreshed clothing pieces. Hosted in welcoming community spaces and guided by sustainbility-minded facilitators, the workshops promoted practical skills, reduces textile waste, and inspire climate-conscioous living.
